I have followed this project since it started, but now I want to tell you something: this looks really, really promising. Minecraft had the same feeling when it started. An epic game about an infite fantasy journey in your world, but then it completely missed the point. I hope this game will be what minecraft should have been, and that's why I would love to see you release the game after all the basic stuff is done and start doing some kind of "secret updates". The way you are adding this stuff is awesome, and it would be incredible if we could feel those changes, more than watching them. Just please, don't do what Notch did and keep doing the right stuff. Also, I would love to help you in any way possible. Seriously, I want to support this game 100% and see it became a true adventure.

As the guy below me said, this looks like an awesome game and you are a promising developer. However I do hope that the game turns out to be more of a minecraft-inspired 'explore and exploit the world' instead of a hack-and-slash RPG.

The horse looks good, but it's probably a bit too big.

If you somehowe manage to make this into a rp-pvp-pve ANYTHING mmo you could make millions i know i will buy it if its 10$-20$(10$ is about the same as minecraft alpha if i remember right) but this look awesome i want to go explore this world with a party of friends! diffrent classes? Archer warrior mage and soo on?

i must say this almost has me as excited as i was over skyrim I WILL BUY THIS GAME!

Nice, but it should be a bit smaller. It's really big right now...the horse should be 1.5 times taller than the kid, a tiny bit thinner(than it is now,), and about twice as long as the kid.

Thanks for making this game! I look forward to seeing the early alpha versions open for testing or whatever.

Are you using a integer-based 3D array for all of your terrain or are you using some sort of class or struct for each cube?

Lookin good, man. Can't wait to playyyy. I remember some videos of multiplayer when you fought the troll and such, how is that coming along? Don't get me wrong, I would rather see a stable awesome single player first, but I am also interested in how far along that is. LAN only? 2 player only? Seemed smooth and lag less.

Good horse to get around though. I'm not sure if its too big like others are saying or a good, funny horse for what looks like a kid to ride around on his adventures.

I think it should stay that size kinda. Something funny, and everything else so far is large as well. Trolls, crabs, now big horses.

I agree with the above post. To be able to experience the changes this wonderful game goes through first-hand would be a real treat. I also think it would help Cube World itself grow.

When I heard of this game and saw some images I was really exited because I thought this would be like Minecraft but a lot better. Something like a 3D Terraria. But then I heard there is no building or mining and I was really disappointed. I really hope you change your mind about that, you can still have all the quests and combat you are planning but if you added building (and mining) on top of that it would really become a great game. I don't know how skilled of a programmer you are but if you DO change your mind please add electrical circuitry so you can do stuff like in Minecraft but with trapdoors and stuff so you can actually make something useful like traps or drawbridges and such. Also what the first guy said.

First of all, great game awesome atmosphere! I totally agree with the guy above me. And has a owner of a Minecraft server i think its also essential that you provide a extreme good support for the multiplayer (no good MP no success) version and the community because us all will help you make your game with new ideas and other things, please pay attention to what we all say, don 't be like the "owner" of the minecraft. Good Luck! I really like your project! And i will pay for it!

Letting us build our own villages like in the minecolony mod of Minecraft and in general letting us build would make me day 1 purchase this game

Lets stop comparing the game to Minecraft. The majority of the comments that I see for any part of the game always compare it to Minecraft. WHY? Because it has squares as well? What else do the two games have in common besides that they share similar graphics, which plenty of games had before Minecraft. That they both have grass? Trees? A sky?

This game looks amazing and I would love to see it go the way that the developer wants for it to go without everyone yelling that Minecraft did this so you should or shouldn't. If you want a building game go somewhere else for now, until the developer decides for himself that he wants to add it in.

Let the game take its own course and see where it will go as a unique adventure/fighting/questing/whatever game, rather than trying to make it a re make of another game.

So please stop comparing it to Minecraft. Stop trying to push it that way and just go mod the hell out of your Minecraft files. You can make it look like this if you try.

Wollay, continue with the awesome game and please ignore the people trying to get you to make a game that already exists with slight differences.

----------------------Also, I am not solely speaking to the people above, this was directed at previous comments on other screen shots and videos over the past months.

@Guy from chile: Wow, it's great that Cube World is even known in Chile now. :) Of course you have the permission to speak about it in your video blog.

@wolfgang784 Thank you for your motivation. I definitely won't make another Minecraft - I will make a game that I would love to play myself. And that is a game with epic adventures, quests and monsters (and crabs). :)

wollay said...

@wolfgang784 Regarding your multiplayer quesstion: I hope to enable privately hosted dedicated servers, so you can play it online. But this still needs to be tested. In the videos I used a LAN connection.

wolfgang784 said...

Glad to hear that. As someone else said multiplayer really makes or breaks indi games, although I hope it has a real solid single player as well first. LAN is awesome for now =D.

I wish I had the knowledge to try something like this. I have taken a year of Visual Basic and am almost finished with all of that, then I will be starting C++ and some Java. Can't wait to learn some actual languages and try something small.

Also, woo crabs.

Anonymous said...

Wow, Wollay You have no idea how excited i am for this game! Can't wait for it to come out.

But, that is one big ole horse you got there. Hah! Keep up the good work. I can't wait for more of the stuff you pump out!

Horse kinda reminds me of Epona from Zelda...

I just wanted to give a little insite as a frequent player of video game :3 please add overpowered things into the game.
This includes armour, weapons, spells (maybe?) and of course enemies. One of the downfalls (IMO) of many a singleplayer game is the creators hesitance to add potentially overpowered items, usually the fail to understand that these items give players something to strive for, or in the case of an enemy, something to run like hell from.

I like how the horse looks. It doesn't look generic, but rather different- more unique. Great job

Mark said...

The horse looks a bit big and chunky.

Where do you find the horse? In the wild? In a stable? Do you have to tame it? Please provide us with more information.

OH MY GOD
That horse is SOOOO DAMN CUTE
...
This must be what fangirls feel like when they go 'squeeeeee'

Dude , your game looks entirely awesome , how much will it be? Dont matter if its expensive , i will totally buy it , good job on this game mate , keep adding great stuff to this awesome game :)

OH ME EFIN GOODESS I WANT THIS GAME SO HACKIN BADLY

Tanaka said...

I love that idea! Nothing says accomplished adventurer like using an outrageously powerful weapon to absolutely destroy a group of monsters that previously gave you nothing but trouble. And having that enemy in the world that could destroy you just by blinking makes a random outing into a tense moment that the player will remember for a long time, and help remind them that no matter how well geared you become, there is always an enemy that will make you use everything the game has taught you up to that moment just to stay alive.

one thing add new mounts plz :)

Cence99 said...

please add flying mounts!

Xjtx said...

epic but i think the horses should be a bit smaller it just makes the character look like hes really small

LittleZerg said...

It's a big mount O.o

Pikomn said...

I agree it looks like its going to step on him

Jr_manuel02 said...

make a dragon tamable so people can fly on them. it dont have to be easy to tame

Zerobillion said...

make the horses smaller, the character is the size of the things leg!

SnowFox said...

This looks like the kind of game I would build, given the skills. This is truly inspiring; and I may try to tackle a similar project with digging and some other features to make it unique from this one. There's something about underground that you just cant ignore in rpg games/ in LoZ especially.

I guess we're going back to the low-pixel age, or at least using the ones we have in innovative ways. They're just so alluring.

ImBobAndYouKnowIt said...

One thing we should be able to ride is......wait for it.......LIGERS!

Wheeeeboi said...

ehhh, the ride seems a bit too big in proportion to the guy. maybe we're playing as dwarves....
is mounted combat included?

Msparmy said...

I think i would be better if you made the horse smaller...
Its too big for the character....

I hope you liked my opinion

P.S. Make a riding animation for the character...dont leave him like sitting make an animation like horse riders ride in real life...that would give a nice "feeling" in game.

Aziriel said...

dare i mention...
the dungeon guardian from terraria?
