New Cube World Video: Monsters

Here is a new video with some new features:

Monsters:
- Huge boss mobs with random body parts
- Different body parts give them different abilities

Combo system:
- Subsequent attacks do more damage and can be performed faster
- Different weapon types have different combo attacks
- If an attack misses, the combo chain is ended

Other features:
- Removed auto-targeting; you have to fight freely
- Redesigned combat: normal attacks do more damage and can be dodged more easily
- Additional attacks, animations, special moves
- Ability bar
- Stamina: Needed for dodging and some abilities

You need to do something with healthbars to look them prettier, fo example made them umovable (just hanging up, not rotating whith mob, maybe made them as sprite) and transparent.

hey wollay u should make random npcs like villagers that just stands around and talks to other random villagers and also make it that
 the monsters can sometimes attack villages and the villagers attempt to run so you can either protect them or leave them but if you kill the monster make it also that villagers also cheer and say lines like you saved us all i reckon it'll be a great addition to the game :)

The upper left is starting to get crowded and confusing, since some of the things are increasing and others decreasing.
The new monsters look awesome and the battles seem like more fun now.

such a promising game. i'm really excited for it!

one question came up though, when i watched the video. 
do items/loot from dead mobs disappear after time?

i could imagine getting annoyed at the fact that at some point during the fight with the saurian, a small mob comes by and decides to fight me. i kill him and keep fighitng the saurian, after the fight i think "now for loot" but because the fight took so long, the small mob's loot has disappeared. 

will that happen? i think i saw the stuff throughout the fight, but i still wanted to ask :)

I'm pretty sure he'd balanced it. If you noitce, he is level 9 fighting a level 10 boss mob. Only a 1 level difference.

There seems to be an info overload in the upper left. Maybe shrinking the less critical bars like XP and perhaps putting them down by the skills would help prevent that. But that is all GUI aesthetic stuff. easily fixed later. Great Progress! I love the combat changes and new skill option.  Looking forward to supporting your project with more than just my attention and comments.

Well to me the game looks done I think you should release the game or beta soon, fix any bugs that are left, maybe move the xp bar so that the left side of the screen isn't so crowded, the combat is great as is, maybe show a little more on the bow, axe, mace, and etc. so everyone can get a taste of whats to come. You will still be able to add more content to the game with patches/updates every so often, Your doing a great job and I can't wait to play this game.

Awesome.
I like the boss battle system because the boss actually has skill and doesn't just randomly chase you trying to hit you, but he also dodges like some crazy wild animal. This boss battle system also makes it look like you won't be able to easily defeat this boss even if you're a higher level and have better equipment, which is the case in a lot of RPG games.

Only thing I would want to see is a little more footage of the other weapons too. But you're doing a great job and I cannot wait until this game is out.

The only thing that's bothering me so far, is the exaggerated sliding in the movement. Everything seems too slippery and and it doesn't look like anything is actually standing on the ground, but rather floating.

The thing thats less dynamic is the ability bar. If I have to level up to learn moves it will be at a bore in time. Hopefully he takes it out and you know how to do all kinds of attacks with it in a simple way.

2 Things:

The upper left top is a bit to crowded... should move some bars down to the bottom right and left corners

And health bars over the Mobs should be more visible.

I think it might be a nice idea to have the auto-target as an ability that you gain after a certin level, or for a certain class.Maybe even have it last for 10s or so. I could see not having auto-target be sort of a nuisance for archers.

Other than that, the game keeps looking better and better! I love the fact that theattacks and enemies can alter the land. I could imagine some sort of strategic fights by altering the lands would be present in the game.

I think that you should make a system that allow monsters to deal damages to other monsters. When you see the monster lizard man taking the tornado of the boss and just keeping all right... problem, bro ?

I kinda liked the auto targeting. Especially for rangers and special moves for melee weapon users. I definitely thought it allowed for easier maneuverability so you know you're evading an enemy; dodging back to get away or to the sides(maybe circling around them to flank). But I haven't played so, idk.

The stamina bar is a good idea, it breaks this chain of just constantly smashing at a enemy one after another.
It makes the game look more interesting.

This ability bar looks good, but does this mean that we can expect race-specific ability's?

 I'm pretty sure he's still working on that. But it look's like the addition of the Ability Bar and the Combos have greatly improved combat, keep it up Wolly, don't ever set a dead line, otherwise you'll just rush if you fall behind, resulting in faulty coding.

no to the second conditionally, you can ride horses, but not fly.
I can see how you made the connection, not arms, round hands, and attacks that break the environment.

There should be a very rare passive gigantic turtle mob that you can tame,live in,steer around,and you can tell it to stay then it will lower down so you can reach the door to you house.I thought of another idea for a name how about 'comprised of pixels/voxels.P.S. I have been calling them pixels and every one has been telling me there not pixels.But anyway here are my two ideas hope you us them wollay.

Great job, really liked it, but, as a good player I am, I would give some suggestions, I think it would be very interesting and fun, so if you had a good construction, I'm not saying to copy minecraft, but the grade differential minecraft was that the player can manipulate the environment, and power contrir things, I think that was missing in his game, because without it, there's nothing that makes it different from RPGs in general, and in matters of the other graph are still best, do not misunderstand me, I'm just trying to improve the game, a hug and good luck, I look forward to the game is done.

I like the new combat mechanic and especially the turtle boss mob, but I do think the interface takes too much room. Make the XP bar smaller and put the visuals of the SP and STAM bar together in one bar. Something like this

You know, the more people ask for BETA, it only hints at how people have interests for this game. However, open BETA testing to ensure greater balancing and issues/bug hunting would be great.

And that is exactly why MineCraft got boring quickly and no MineCraft update got me playing MC for more than a few hours. After I got bored, every update would be just a little more glitter, so you could say "pretty" and then say "bleh" 10 seconds after the glitter was thrown. No, he should releas when HE feels like it could be falled a game.

He added stamina so people couldn't dodge attacks endlessly. Wouldn't it be annoying if you kept chasing a person in multiplayer and he kept dodging due to the fact that there was no stamina?

Wollay! could you please state the status of the mage, I can't wait for the mage video I really want to see what ideas you've come up  with. Also it would be  really cool if you added a sort of ninja class. Like he would be really fast and wield two daggers. And if he's on a tree he would be able to jump at a mob and do extra damage. And I have one more question, are there going to be stats like str, dex, luk, int, those types of things so you can really shape your character. Put str and dex for a warrior put more dex than str on a bowman and even out the dex and str while dual-wielding etc.

How do you know he's shown most of the spirit attacks? Does this mean the dog is our only pet? Since he only has shown that as a pet. Or that a horse would be our only mount? Similar to the reason for dogs.

Well, I don't actually know. But knowing that this game is mostly combat-based, with building, breeding (if any) and any other things as set-aside activities, combat tools and mobs would be shown in videos and screenshots by a fairly larger amount, and they have. Also, since this game is still being made, not to mention being sold for cash,  there should be plenty of surprises. Wollay has likely shown at least half of the weapon combinations, and at least 1 for each type, except magic. Which bears the question: what about non-weapon combat? Will wrestling matches and arenas be added? Fight clubs? And if unarmed combat is possible, then what are the spirit attacks, if any? Or will spirit attacks be restricted to weapons? Or is wollay adding brass knuckles to the mix of "charming" weapon types?

I meant as in ability points (str, dex, int, luk, etc;), that every mmo has. I didn't see anything about racial perks, wizard class, cool, and rogue class, no info other than a statement or two from WOllay. As for my AP statement, he said on Twitter on Feb 1st in a reply to a Giorat Cube World wold not be an mmorpg. I'd link it, but I can't the stupid link to load on my i-device so I can even copy/paste.

 no no no! that's not what wollay meant! when he said "it will not be a mmorpg" he meant there will not be a few massive servers with thousands of people on. so i suppose the only way to know is to ask him directly about it.

There should be speed penalties, like you can sprint when your using a great sword.

Well, I wouldn't say that... there is a chance that there is unarmed combat. And theres evidence. The video where Wollay and his wife are raiding a castle with a lich in it shows zombies using unarmed attacks instead of weapons. Of course, this could be exclusive to those mobs, but there could still be a chance for unarmed combat for living, non-brain-craving beings in the game. And players, don't forget the players.
